Senior Scientist – Molecular Design & Synthesis

What you will do

• Design and optimize molecular constructs using structure-property-function relationships, mechanistic insights, cheminformatics, molecular modeling, and data-driven methods.
• Build and analyze molecular datasets, develop predictive models, and evaluate molecular properties that influence performance.
• Design, execute, and optimize synthesis routes for peptides, oligonucleotides, linkers, conjugates, and other molecular constructs.
• Characterize molecules using LC-MS, analytical and preparative HPLC, spectroscopy, and related analytical methods.
• Drive Design-Make-Test-Learn workflows and collaborate with chemistry, biology, engineering, sequencing technology, bioinformatics, and data science teams.
• Contribute to intellectual property, technical risk mitigation, scientific presentations, and mentorship of junior scientists.

Requirements

• Expertise in molecular design, synthetic chemistry, and molecular characterization.
• Experience independently driving complex scientific projects from concept through execution.
• Ability to integrate computational and experimental approaches and influence technical decisions across functional boundaries.
• PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Computational Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with peptide synthesis, oligonucleotide chemistry, bioconjugation, molecular modeling, cheminformatics, computational chemistry, structure-property analysis, or machine learning for molecular design.
• Typically requires at least 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, 3 years with a Master's degree, or relevant PhD research experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with RDKit, Python, molecular modeling software, or related computational tools.
• Experience generating intellectual property and contributing to patent applications.
• Experience mentoring scientists and working in multidisciplinary research and development environments.
