Frontline Engineer (Quality Systems)

Location: Atlanta, GA, United States; hybrid. An office location is also listed in Cork, Ireland. No travel is expected.

Salary: USD 118,800–160,000 per year, with possible eligibility for a corporate bonus program.

What you will do

• Design and maintain functional, regression, integration, and system-level test plans, cases, and automated suites.
• Own quality automation strategy, release-readiness signals, and metrics such as defect escape rates, test coverage, and automation pass rates.
• Investigate and reproduce complex, high-priority field issues using logs, monitoring systems, production data, network traces, and configurations.
• Debug distributed systems, APIs, services, and code paths to identify failure domains and root causes.
• Prepare complete engineering-ready defect reports, maintain JIRA hygiene, validate fixes, and perform regression verification.
• Turn recurring field issues into improvements in test coverage, observability, diagnostics, documentation, product design, and AI-assisted triage workflows.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundation with the ability to read, debug, and reason across distributed systems and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with software quality engineering, test design, test automation, and defect lifecycle management.
• Experience investigating production systems through logs, monitoring tools, and observability platforms.
• Solid understanding of APIs, client-server architectures, and modern distributed systems.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills for ambiguous, high-priority issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, TPMs, and product stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with enterprise device management platforms such as Apple, Android, Windows, or similar technologies.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude, or Rovo.
• Background in sustaining engineering, field engineering, or production systems engineering.
• Experience owning test automation frameworks or developer productivity tooling.
• Familiarity with observability platforms and structured log analysis.
