Staff System Test Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Sunnyvale, CA; hybrid role requiring attendance at the Sunnyvale HQ office 3 days per week

Salary: $148,500–$204,000 USD base salary per year

What you will do

• Define testing strategies with cross-functional teams for AI-driven embedded and cloud-connected automotive systems.
• Develop and execute automated and manual system-level test plans.
• Orchestrate AI model deployment, testing, and scoring with development teams.
• Triage integration issues, reproduce defects, and support root-cause analysis.
• Track testing activities, escalate software, hardware, and resource risks, and align stakeholders.
• Act as a release gatekeeper while improving test coverage and testing methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field; an MS is preferred.
• At least 5 years of embedded software experience in data centers, networking, security, cloud services, or automotive, plus at least 1 year of AI model development and testing experience.
• Experience with system-level testing of physical devices and end-to-end testing of cloud-controlled or monitored embedded products.
• Strong knowledge of AI fundamentals, neural networks, model deployment, and ML flow.
• Proficiency with Linux command line, shell scripting, Python test scripting, and AI/ML test automation tools.
• Familiarity with PyTest, Playwright, Behave, JIRA, Jenkins, or similar tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with test tools in the data analytics space.
• Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
