Expression of Interest - Maritime & Coastal Engineering Opportunities (Maritime and Coastal Engineering): Designing and delivering ports, harbours, marine structures, coastal protection and major energy and defence infrastructure across Australia with an accent on structural analysis, coastal processes, numerical modelling and project delivery. Focus on developing engineering designs and technical studies, leading multidisciplinary delivery, and managing complex maritime and coastal infrastructure projects.

Location: Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth, Australia

What you will do

  • Design, assess and deliver ports, harbours, wharves, jetties and marine infrastructure.
  • Develop and assess concrete, steel and piled maritime structures, including remediation and lifecycle management.
  • Investigate coastal processes and perform wave, hydrodynamic and sediment transport modelling.
  • Design coastal protection such as seawalls, revetments and groynes, and contribute to dredging, reclamation and sediment management projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, feasibility assessments and design documentation.
  • Lead complex projects and design packages, manage delivery to scope, budget and schedule, and mentor multidisciplinary teams where applicable.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in maritime engineering, coastal engineering or related infrastructure planning, design and delivery.
  • Experience with ports, harbours, wharves, jetties, marine structures or waterfront infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of structural analysis, engineering investigations, numerical modelling or coastal process assessment.
  • Experience collaborating with clients, authorities and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Senior opportunities require technical leadership, design assurance, project management, stakeholder engagement and team management experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience using maritime engineering software such as SPACE GASS, Strand7, STAAD.Pro, SESAM or OPTIMOOR.
  • Experience with coastal modelling tools including Delft3D, SWAN, SWASH, XBeach, MIKE or TUFLOW.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python, MATLAB or similar tools.
