Business Development Lead (AI)

What you will do

• Own business development strategy and execution across pharma, diagnostics, and synthetic biology.
• Build relationships with senior executives, scientific leaders, and other industry decision-makers.
• Translate AI research capabilities into clear commercial opportunities and value propositions.
• Structure and close partnerships involving research collaborations, licensing, platform access, data, and co-development.
• Develop new deal structures suited to an AI research lab and collaborate with researchers and product leaders on partner programs.
• Build the business development function and support biodefense partnerships operationally when needed.

Requirements

• Executive-level business development experience in life sciences with a track record of closing meaningful deals.
• A strong network across pharma, diagnostics, synthetic biology, or adjacent industries.
• Excellent judgment in structuring and negotiating complex partnerships.
• Scientific and technical fluency sufficient to represent an AI research lab credibly.
• Ability to uncover customer needs and turn emerging capabilities into clear value propositions.
• Adaptability, entrepreneurial judgment, and comfort creating new commercial approaches.
