Maintenance Technician III (HVAC/R)

Location: Onsite in North Chicago, Illinois, United States. Rotating shift: 6:00 AM–6:30 PM, four days on/four days off.

Salary: $27–$48.80.

What you will do

• Provide senior-level technical support within the maintenance department.
• Maintain department assets and ensure equipment reliability and quality standards.
• Perform root cause investigations and reliability-centered maintenance analysis.
• Create and edit maintenance job plans across multiple skilled trade disciplines.
• Train lower-level technicians and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Support continuous improvement projects and site safety initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma with 10+ years of experience, a relevant certificate with 5+ years, an associate technical degree with 3+ years, or proficiency in two or more skilled maintenance functions.
• Advanced experience with machine, diagnostic, and predictive maintenance tools.
• Ability to configure, use, repair, and replace I/O and BAS-controlled systems.
• Working knowledge of the HVAC/R validation and commissioning process.
• Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and work with 24Vac, 120Vac, and 460Vac systems.
• Valid driver's license and EPA certification for refrigerant recovery equipment and refrigerant handling.

Nice to have

• CMRT certification or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience with Beacon 2 smart controllers and Heatcraft IntelliGen systems.
