Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor (Construction Cost Management): Managing full-lifecycle cost management for medium and large construction projects, from estimating and budgeting through post-contract delivery, with an accent on cost planning, valuations, change control, and client-facing delivery. Focus on negotiating contractor pricing, coordinating cost information, managing contingencies and commitments, and producing accurate cost reports and final accounts.

Location: Cleveland, Ohio, United States; on-site presence may be required depending on client needs.

What you will do

  • Act as the day-to-day client interface and deliver value-added cost management services.
  • Prepare estimates, budgets, cost plans, monthly cost reports, funding presentations, and built-cost records.
  • Manage cost checks, valuations, post-contract cost variances, change control, contingency, and commitment tracking.
  • Review contractor and subcontractor pricing, lead negotiations, and support value engineering and design optioneering.
  • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor talent while supporting financial management, delivery methodologies, and business management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related construction field.
  • 5–7 years of relevant cost management experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience leading cost management for medium or large, medium- to high-complexity construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working in a client-facing role.
  • Construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred; RICS accreditation or progress toward it is preferred.
