Human Resources Business Partner

Location: NL Head Office MHNL, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada

Salary: CAD 72,000–100,000 annually

What you will do

• Advise leaders and employees on employee and labour relations matters.
• Guide performance management, attendance management, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
• Interpret and apply collective agreements, employment legislation, organizational policies, and HR best practices.
• Manage grievance investigations, documentation, and resolution activities while maintaining relationships with union representatives.
• Partner with leaders on workforce challenges, employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness.
• Lead or support organizational projects, change initiatives, continuous improvement, and collective bargaining activities.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Extensive progressive experience delivering broad HR services in a unionized environment.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, employee relations, labour relations principles, and collective agreement administration.
• Experience managing complex and sensitive employee relations matters.
• Excellent communication, presentation, consultation, relationship-building, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage projects, adapt to change, and provide effective client service.

Nice to have

• Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation completed or in progress.
