Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Sheffield, United Kingdom; hybrid, with in-office work three days per week

Salary: £60,000–£78,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and ship AI-powered features that turn product usage data into actionable customer suggestions.
• Develop full-stack experiences with a frontend focus, including TypeScript, Vue.js, DOM-level work, component architecture, browser data capture, backend services, and APIs.
• Validate customer problems through customer calls, prototypes, and product discovery.
• Define feature success metrics and iterate using real product usage data, experiments, and customer feedback.
• Use AI coding tools such as Cursor and Claude Code while maintaining rigorous code review and engineering accountability.
• Improve engineering standards through code reviews, mentoring, clear communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and AI agents through production work or personal projects.
• Full-stack engineering experience with a frontend focus, including strong TypeScript skills, DOM expertise, and backend service knowledge.
• At least 3 years of experience building and scaling web applications.
• Strong software architecture, design principles, and API development skills.
• Product judgment, including experience shaping ambiguous problems, defining scope, setting success metrics, and using customer or usage data to guide decisions.
• Clear communication, mentoring, and teammate-unblocking skills.

Nice to have

• Experience working with product managers, writing specifications, prioritizing roadmaps, or running discovery.
• Experience with Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, A/B tests, betas, or product experiments.
• Browser DOM inspection or automation experience.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol, LLM agent tools, real-time data pipelines, streaming architectures, or accessibility.
