Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise (AI)

Location: London, UK; hybrid policy requires staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time. The role also involves travel to customer sites across the UK.

Annual compensation: £225,000–£255,000 GBP OTE, including target sales commissions or bonuses and base salary.

What you will do

• Guide UK enterprise customers through technical evaluation, proof of value, procurement, and the decision to build on Claude.
• Lead the technical side of opportunities and remain a trusted Claude advisor throughout deployment.
• Define target architectures, evaluation criteria, and delivery expectations for customers and systems integration partners.
• Advise engineering teams on Claude Platform architecture, agent design, evaluation, security, and scale.
• Build and present business value cases to C-level and senior executive stakeholders.
• Feed enterprise engagement patterns back to Product, Engineering, and the Applied AI team.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder.
• Pre-sales or technical advisory experience with large enterprises, including evaluations, proofs of concept, security reviews, legal, and procurement.
• Experience with value-based selling and presenting business cases to C-level and VP-level stakeholders.
• Production experience with LLM-powered applications, prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, architecture requirements, and regulated sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or professional experience in a relevant field.
