Senior Software Engineer I (AI/Cloud)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications in a distributed environment.
• Build capabilities for the New Peer Review Experience supporting researchers, reviewers, and editors.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and incorporate feedback.
• Contribute to architectural decisions focused on system stability and performance.
• Implement delivery improvements and partner with Agile and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• Some proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, frontend frameworks, Java, Spring Boot, or SQL, with willingness to learn additional technologies.
• Experience with build tools, Git, continuous integration, monitoring, alerting, and logging.
• Experience with cloud environments and technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Experience with test-driven development, mocking libraries, Agile practices, and modern IDE refactoring tools.
• Experience supporting or mentoring team members and improving team working practices.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and AI-based solutions.
