Mechanical Drafter (Defense)

What you will do

• Create and revise mechanical drawings, 3D models, and assemblies in SolidWorks for manufacturing.
• Develop and maintain drawing packages, bills of materials, part libraries, and controlled documentation.
• Translate engineering concepts into precise, manufacturable technical drawings.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and embedded teams to integrate system components.
• Support design revisions, prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and production issue resolution.
• Apply drafting standards, GD&T, tolerancing, and revision control processes.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of drafting experience in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks for mechanical modeling and drafting.
• Familiarity with GD&T, mechanical tolerancing, and ASME Y14.5 drafting standards.
• Understanding of mechanical assemblies, fasteners, and electromechanical systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Hardware development experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, or industrial equipment.
• Experience with rapid prototyping, prototype builds, or 3D printing.
• Exposure to configuration management systems and PLM tools.
• Previous experience in a startup or high-velocity engineering team.
