Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist

Location: Onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States

Develops fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor technology to support the transition to clean energy.

What you will do

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental programs and procedures.
• Collaborate with EHS professionals, cross-functional teams, management, employees, regulators, and external agencies.
• Support environmental compliance, including permits, regulatory reports, inspections, audits, and documentation.
• Manage hazardous materials and waste activities, including disposal, recycling, and vendor relationships.
• Develop and deliver EHS training and engage employees to identify workplace and environmental concerns.
• Investigate incidents and accidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and serve as a first responder on the Emergency Response Team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in an environmental, health, and safety program.
• Experience preparing EHS documentation, including incident reports, incident action plans, and after-action reports.
• Experience supporting EHS training, regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, codes, standards, hazardous materials, and waste-management requirements.
• Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing and R&D environment, respond to urgent requests, wear required PPE, and handle hazardous materials including beryllium.

Nice to have

• Professional certification related to environmental or EHS responsibilities.
• Experience in manufacturing, research and development, laboratory, or another regulated operating environment.
