TL;DR

Location: San Diego, California, United States (Relocation assistance available)

Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 (Base)

What you will do

  • Lead electrical design for complex PCBs, including high-speed digital interfaces and power distribution networks (PDNs).
  • Own the schematic generation process using EDA tools like KiCAD, Altium Designer, or Cadence.
  • Architect the Bill of Materials (BOM) considering performance, cost, and supply chain viability.
  • Conduct SPICE simulations, power integrity modeling, and signal integrity analyses.
  • Collaborate with Layout Engineers on placement constraints, routing budgets, and stack-up requirements.
  • Perform hands-on lab testing, debugging, and prototype bring-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware development and board-level circuit design.
  • Expert-level proficiency in EDA tools (KiCAD, Altium, Cadence, or Siemens Xpedition).
  • Deep knowledge of digital protocols (SPI, I2C, Ethernet/SGMII, PCI-E) and power electronics.
  • Experience with mixed-signal environments and DFx (DFM, DFA, DFT) methodologies.
  • Must be based in or able to relocate to San Diego, CA

Nice to have

  • Experience with FPGA hardware integration and BGA fan-out strategies.
  • Scripting capabilities in Python or MATLAB for design automation.
