Data Center Engineer

Location: On-site at 540 National Business Parkway, Annapolis Junction, Maryland; listed location is Lanham, Maryland. Travel is minimal and working hours are standard.

Salary: $160,000–$195,000 annually for Maryland. Additional compensation may include bonuses or relocation benefits.

What you will do

• Engineer infrastructure for data center refreshes, new technologies, and future cloud capabilities.
• Review legacy architectures and operations, define transition requirements, and document modernization plans.
• Design and build security-hardened host and tenant environments, including maintenance, patching, and update procedures.
• Design virtual infrastructure and highly available private cloud services for active-active data center operations.
• Develop automation and orchestration for provisioning, de-provisioning, and entitlement of compute, storage, and network resources.
• Support infrastructure security reporting, service catalogs, systems integration, database design, data governance, and data quality engineering.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• 8 years of experience with a BS/BA, 3–5 years with an MS/MA, or 0–2 years with a PhD.
• Experience engineering and integrating physical and virtual infrastructure hosting Windows, Linux, Solaris, UNIX, and/or AIX systems.
• Experience with VMware vCloud Enterprise Suite and hybrid cloud across multiple classified government clouds.
• Current DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level III certification.

Nice to have

• Professional-level Linux, VMware, network, storage, or cloud certifications.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
