Junior Data Scientist

Location: Hybrid role based out of the Los Angeles office, United States

Salary: $86,000–$94,000 annual base salary, plus benefits and discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Identify, ingest, and evaluate data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Build and support data extraction pipelines and provide input on ETL pipeline development.
• Explore data and create advanced visualizations, metrics, and KPIs.
• Apply statistical methods and machine learning for classification and prediction.
• Document reproducible analyses and explain the strengths and limitations of statistical results.
• Gather and prioritize business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and present insights in business-friendly formats.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, engineering, computer science, business, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar mathematical programming; Python expertise is preferred.
• Proficiency in SQL and modern database management.
• Experience with Spark or similar distributed computing platforms and BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, prioritization, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• Experience in a data science and analytics department or lab.
• Experience with simulation modeling, large language models, neural networks, NLP, Excel, and PowerPoint.
