Associate Data Scientist (AI/ML)

Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC, based at the South Charlotte Headquarters Tuesday through Thursday; fully remote Mondays and Fridays. Not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship, including H-1B, F-1, OPT, STEM-OPT, and TN visa holders. Not available for corp-to-corp work.

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 total cash compensation per year.

What you will do

• Develop and deploy reliable, well-tested ML and AI solutions in production.
• Work across the data lifecycle, including data extraction, cleaning, modeling, and tracking downstream impact.
• Customize platform-team solutions for individual clients and partners, including telecommunications partners.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to scope data science work.
• Communicate progress, risks, and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and independently deliver scoped tickets and small projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a quantitative field, or bachelor's degree with 1–2 years of professional experience.
• Foundational knowledge of classification, regression, clustering, and appropriate model selection.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with generative AI tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, LangChain, Mastra, or OpenAI tools.
• Familiarity with model deployment and MLOps concepts, including version control, CI/CD, and job orchestration.
• Ability to perform exploratory data analysis and evaluate technical model performance and business impact.

Nice to have

• Internship, research, or project experience applying ML to real-world problems.
• Experience with Databricks or AWS cloud platforms.
