Data Scientist Sr Lead

Location: Hybrid, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote, in Atlanta, Georgia; Columbus, Georgia; or Jacksonville, Florida. Candidates must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, validation, deployment, monitoring, and optimization of machine learning, predictive analytics, and AI solutions.
• Develop models and conduct experiments, hypothesis testing, statistical analysis, and quantitative research for risk, fraud, marketing, and portfolio management.
• Analyze structured and unstructured data and translate findings into product recommendations, dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations.
• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives involving emerging machine learning technologies and Generative AI, converting successful pilots into production solutions.
• Establish best practices for data science, MLOps, model governance, data quality, and lifecycle management in a regulated financial services environment.
• Mentor junior data scientists and collaborate with product, engineering, business, executive, and data engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or another quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing and deploying end-to-end machine learning and predictive analytics solutions in payments, banking, or financial services.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, PySpark, R, Hadoop, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Plotly, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
• Advanced data visualization and business intelligence experience with Tableau, plus hands-on Databricks experience including MLflow, AutoML, Model Registry, collaborative notebooks, and MLOps workflows.
• Experience with classification, clustering, Random Forest, XGBoost, Gradient Boosting, K-Means, NLP, feature engineering, and production model deployment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. in a relevant quantitative discipline.
• Experience with AWS cloud-native data science and machine learning solutions.
• Experience productizing enterprise-scale machine learning solutions and managing production model governance and monitoring.
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and related frameworks.
• Experience mentoring data scientists and providing technical leadership across complex analytics initiatives.
