Focus on managing analysts, sizing complex systems, modeling multiphase and internal flows, and guiding vehicle and propulsion hardware through design and development.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; on-site at the factory

Hiring range: $160,000–$240,000 USD annually, plus salary and equity.

Company

hirify.global develops Terran R, a launch vehicle designed to deliver customer payloads to orbit and expand commercial launch capacity.

What you will do

  • Manage a fluids analysis team and align work with vehicle program milestones.
  • Define, scope, schedule, and resource analyses supporting design, operations, and program execution.
  • Perform thermal-fluid calculations for compressible and incompressible systems using hand calculations, custom scripts, network solvers, and CFD models.
  • Develop CFD analyses for propellant management, thermal stratification, complex manifolds, components, and multiphase feedline flows.
  • Validate analysis models and quantify uncertainty using literature and test data.
  • Mentor engineers and guide hardware owners in meeting fluid requirements across ascent, in-space, and reentry flight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and 7+ years of relevant experience across at least one aerospace vehicle program lifecycle.
  • Experience leading high-performing engineering teams on complex, cross-functional hardware projects.
  • Strong mentoring and technical leadership skills, with a first-principles approach to complex physics problems.
  • Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language for scientific computing and automated test or simulation data analysis.
  • Experience with 1D modeling of compressible and incompressible flow using hand calculations or fluid network analysis tools such as GFSSP or FloCAD.
  • Experience architecting and executing CFD tools and workflows such as STAR-CCM+, Fluent, or FLOW-3D to inform hardware design.

Nice to have

  • Experience building volume-of-fluid or internal compressible-flow CFD models.
  • Experience developing simulation toolsets and workflows for high-performance computing.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work directly with rocket hardware in a fast-paced, highly integrated development environment.
  • Collaborate across propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, operations, and other functions.
  • Benefits include competitive salary and equity, generous paid time off and sick leave, and parental leave.
  • Annual learning and development stipend.
  • Culture emphasizes autonomy, ownership, collaboration, technical rigor, and calculated risk-taking.
