  • Lead propulsion, structural, mechanical, avionics, software, and test engineering contributors.
  • Develop engine operating procedures, operational limits, and verification and qualification plans.
  • Define and manage the program schedule and budget.
  • Participate in test and launch operations, making real-time engineering decisions about technical risks.
  • Drive engine upgrades and design-for-reuse decisions covering reliability, production rate, inspections, refurbishment, and reflown-hardware acceptance.

Requirements

  • Experience taking at least one development engine program through a significant part of its lifecycle, from concept through development, qualification, or sustained operations.
  • Ability to integrate technical contributors across propulsion, mechanical, electrical, avionics, and software disciplines.
  • Strong practical systems engineering knowledge and fundamentals in compressible flow, thermodynamics, combustion, control systems, cryogenics, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with fluid analysis tools such as Python, NPSS, AMESim, Thermal Desktop, EES, REFPROP, or equivalent, plus strong test-data analysis and reduction skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent; hands-on engine hardware fabrication and assembly experience required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with gas-generator cycle engines, LNG or methane propulsion systems, and engine reuse processes.
  • Experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, CAD, configuration management, GD&T, tolerance stackups, and material selection.
  • Experience with GTAW, laser, or electron-beam welding.
  • Familiarity with engine start/shutdown transient modeling and engine control system design.
