What you will do

• Design protection and control systems, working directly with clients to develop project scopes and propose solutions.
• Create relay one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, I/O lists, relay settings, and configuration files.
• Develop panel construction specifications, including panel layouts, elevations, and interconnect wiring.
• Evaluate the interoperability, control features, and communication protocols of protective relays, RTUs, and LTC controllers.
• Perform power system load flow studies, fault studies, and relay setting coordination.
• Aid in commissioning pertaining to system startups and functional checks.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 5 or more years of experience in protection and control system design, cost estimating, and bidding document preparation for substations.
• Experience with telecommunications, protective relaying, and automation (SCADA).
• Critical knowledge of IEEE, NERC, NEC, NESC, NEMA, and ANSI standards.
• Familiarity with Schweitzer Engineering, General Electric, and Basler equipment.
• Must be able to work on-site in New York offices.

Nice to have

• PE license from a US State.
• Interest in low voltage coordination and arc flash studies.
