Resident Engineer (Automotive Electronics)

Location: Novi, Michigan, USA; work may take place in an office, manufacturing facility, or client site. Up to 15% domestic and international travel is required.

Salary: $78,750–$115,500 per year, with additional compensation potentially available depending on the position.

What you will do

• Provide customer-facing technical support for electrical and software product development, validation, release, and production launch.
• Maintain customer test benches with current hirify.global product samples and perform initial troubleshooting, data collection, and issue triage.
• Support analysis of warranty parts and provide field and dealership technical assistance.
• Facilitate customer change management by entering technical requirements or responses and tracking approvals.
• Lead electrical and software integration of hirify.global products into customer vehicles.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of customer-facing or design engineering experience, or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of electrical and software products, customer-specific PDM and PLM systems, and databases.
• Experience solving complex mechanical and technical issues involving electronic products integrated into vehicles.
• Ability to complete administrative work supporting product development, testing, and release.
• Strong communication and coordination skills for explaining complex technical concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in an office, manufacturing facility, or client site and travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Experience as a customer-facing engineer, application engineer, or design engineer for automotive electronics products.
• Direct experience with the applicable customer.
