Staff Software Engineer, Developer Platform (AI)

Location: United States - Remote

Base salary: $205,000–$231,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Own significant parts of the Developer Platform, including monorepo CI/CD, Agentic AI infrastructure, and shared build systems.
• Design reliable, secure, performant, scalable, and maintainable platform architecture, coordinating delivery across engineering teams.
• Improve CI/CD speed, reliability, and developer experience so teams can ship with less build-related waiting and debugging.
• Scale agent-driven change workflows beyond traditional pull requests with automated validation, AI-assisted review, and low-risk auto-merge.
• Productionize Agentic AI capabilities including structured traces, cost monitoring, debuggability, shared memory, tools, and context engineering.
• Standardize build and release practices, automate repetitive engineering work, mentor engineers, and raise the quality of design and code reviews.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and operating production services and platform infrastructure in modern cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Go or the ability to ramp up quickly.
• Deep expertise in CI/CD, container-based orchestration, and large-monorepo build, test, and release tooling.
• Experience setting technical direction across multiple teams, evaluating tradeoffs, retiring legacy systems, and aligning teams around target architectures.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI or LLM-based production automation, including RAG, memory, and tool-calling patterns.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a self-directed approach to ambiguous, data-driven platform improvements.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, Buildkite, or comparable high-throughput workflow systems.
• Experience scaling automated change throughput beyond traditional pull request workflows.
• Experience with DORA or SPACE metrics and their instrumentation.
• Experience operating a large Go monorepo and its surrounding tooling.
• Familiarity with supply-chain security, OCI, Kubernetes, or open-source software communities.
