Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: USA; fully remote role with up to 50% travel depending on business needs

Base salary: $136,000–$216,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, equity, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Own assigned workstreams end-to-end within larger client engagements.
• Build and ship production-quality software and automations in client codebases and environments.
• Contribute to discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and stakeholder interviews with senior FDEs.
• Translate ambiguous business or technical problems into scoped, deliverable work.
• Surface risks and blockers early and escalate decisions beyond the assigned scope.
• Document and hand off durable solutions while contributing reusable artifacts or patterns to the practice.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in software engineering, technical delivery, or business systems.
• Ability to self-direct assigned work, manage priorities, and maintain delivery quality without daily oversight.
• Hands-on experience in one or more of LLM application development, cloud-native development, backend engineering, or business automation tooling.
• Strong communication skills with both engineers and business stakeholders.
• High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to begin delivering before every requirement is defined.
• Must be based in the USA; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM APIs such as Claude or AWS Bedrock, including prompt architecture, tool use, and basic agent patterns.
• Familiarity with AWS, containerization, or backend systems.
• Experience rapidly turning ambiguous problems into working proofs of concept.
• Consulting, systems integration, or professional services experience.
• Operational experience with Finance, HR, Legal, Sales Ops, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing; automation tools such as Zapier, Power Automate, or Airtable; or enterprise systems such as Salesforce, Oracle, D365, Workday, or ServiceNow.
