Production Manager (Water Treatment Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas; no remote or hybrid availability

What you will do

• Lead daily factory-floor production across fabrication, welding, electrical and controls integration, mechanical assembly, and final testing.
• Plan shifts, assign work, coordinate tier meetings, remove production roadblocks, and deliver units on schedule.
• Manage and develop supervisors, leads, fabricators, welders, electricians, assemblers, and automation technicians.
• Own capacity planning, material readiness, throughput, delivery, quality, scrap, rework, and other floor KPIs.
• Enforce build standards, inspection processes, standard work, visual management, and corrective actions.
• Improve layouts, tooling, processes, and production flow using Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, DFMA, and engineering-change practices.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive manufacturing or production leadership experience, preferably with engineered, industrial, process, or build-to-order products.
• Hands-on knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, electrical assembly, and mechanical assembly.
• Working knowledge of industrial automation and controls, including PLC and SCADA environments.
• Strong ERP/MRP experience with work orders, BOMs, routings, build records, and data-driven KPI management.
• Experience with Lean and Six Sigma tools, ISO 9001 practices, inspection and first-article processes, and EHS standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience; strong shop-floor leadership and communication skills.

• Experience building water, wastewater, or process-treatment equipment.
• Experience scaling manufacturing operations in a high-growth company.
• MES/SCADA experience for OEE and downtime analysis.
• Fabrication and weld-shop operations experience.
• Fluency with modern digital and AI tools for planning, reporting, and floor management.
