Deputy Project Coordinator - Policy and Advocacy (PlayMatters)

What you will do

• Lead PlayMatters 3.0 policy influence and systems-strengthening plans, workplans, budgets, learning agendas, and risk reviews.
• Coordinate policy commitments and stakeholder engagement across consortium partners, government ministries, local governments, education institutions, and development partners.
• Support the institutionalization of Learning through Play in teacher development systems, policy frameworks, standards, curricula, and emergency education guidance.
• Translate research, MEAL findings, and implementation learning into policy briefs, technical guidance, position papers, advocacy messages, and strategic recommendations.
• Represent PlayMatters in technical working groups, sector reviews, curriculum reforms, policy consultations, conferences, and policy dialogues.
• Track policy influence indicators, stakeholder commitments, policy changes, systems-change outcomes, and progress toward sustainable government-led continuation.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in education, international development, social sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in policy engagement, advocacy, education sector reform, systems strengthening, or public-sector engagement.
• Experience working with government ministries, education institutions, development partners, and policy-making processes.
• Strong understanding of education policy, teacher development systems, education in emergencies, and competency-based learning reforms.
• Experience translating research and evidence into policy and programme influence, and developing policy products, advocacy strategies, and influence plans.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, facilitation, negotiation, written, and oral communication skills.
