Clean Transportation Project Manager, Thailand

Location: Remote, preferably based in Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand; periodic travel within Thailand and occasional global travel may be required.

What you will do

• Represent the ICCT as its first in-country staff member in Thailand and build relationships with government agencies, NGOs, academics, industry partners, and media.
• Help shape Thailand’s transportation policy strategy with global program staff and support policy development through research and stakeholder engagement.
• Organize outreach opportunities, conferences, and meetings focused on transportation policy.
• Write and review technical reports, policy briefings, articles, blogs, social media posts, and other research communications.
• Develop quantitative and qualitative analyses of vehicle-emission reduction technologies and operational strategies.
• Support policies for domestic manufacturing and assembly of zero-emission vehicles and components, strengthening Thailand’s EV value chain.

Requirements

• Strong Thai and English communication skills, written and verbal.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Thai policymaking processes and established connections within the Thai government, industry, and NGOs.
• Experience engaging government officials, NGOs, and media and facilitating public-policy collaboration.
• M.Sc. or Ph.D. in engineering, environmental science, environmental policy, energy and resources, transportation, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
• At least 3 years of applicable stakeholder-engagement and/or research experience, ideally in transportation.
• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, strategic-thinking, and independent leadership capabilities.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or supporting media and communications strategies, including press outreach and message development.
• Technical analysis and report-writing experience related to vehicle efficiency, electric vehicle technology, and transportation decarbonization policies.
• Proficiency with data manipulation and analysis tools.
