Lead Operations Technology OT Network Architect (Cisco)

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States. Hybrid role with part-time telecommuting authorized and 10% travel for site visits and training.

Salary: $181,501–$185,750 per year, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the design and architecture of OT network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, redundancy, security, and compliance with AES standards and NERC CIP requirements.
• Develop and maintain standardized network designs, operating procedures, configuration baselines, architecture diagrams, compliance reports, and project deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, training, and implementation oversight to network engineering teams.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and manage the lifecycle of OT network hardware and security devices, including Cisco firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, corporate IT, application teams, cross-functional OT groups, and third-party vendors to resolve complex network and architectural issues.
• Conduct audits, assessments, testing, change-control reviews, update validation, and disaster-recovery planning for OT network systems.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls in enterprise or industrial environments.
• 5 years of experience creating network architecture documents, diagrams, standard operating procedures, or design templates.
• 5 years of experience working with vendors, application teams, or cross-functional IT/OT groups to resolve complex network issues or validate technical changes.
• 5 years of experience supporting operational technology or industrial networks such as SCADA, substations, or plant control networks.
• 3 years of experience with Cisco Firepower FTD/FMC or comparable enterprise firewall platforms, including IPS/IDS, VPN, and secure policy configuration.
• 3 years of experience with secure networking, TCP/IP, segmentation, vulnerability or patch assessment, LAN/WAN design, high availability, network audits, and compliance-driven environments such as NERC CIP or ISO.
