Senior Design Engineer (Battery Pack)

Location: Mossville, Illinois, United States; onsite five days a week. Up to 10% travel is expected. Domestic relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $112,710–$169,060 per year.

What you will do

• Design and own battery system architectures for integration into rail and marine customer applications.
• Develop structural rack and pack designs, including cooling, communications, and high-voltage interface routing.
• Evaluate and optimize designs using structural and thermal simulation tools.
• Support hardware procurement, system builds, build improvements, and process optimization.
• Develop application and integration guides, disassembly and assembly procedures, Design FMEAs, and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, purchasing, suppliers, customers, and dealer product support teams on product development and APQP implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in an accredited engineering curriculum.
• Knowledge of analytical problem-solving techniques and the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to produce, analyze, simulate, and test product design drafts using computer-aided design and engineering tools.
• Knowledge of product design and development from concept through production.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate technical information effectively.
• Availability to work onsite in Mossville, Illinois, five days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of progressive work or academic experience designing and developing battery packs, racks, or similar electrical integration systems.
• Proficiency with Creo or an equivalent CAD tool and Teamcenter.
• Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
