Senior Mechanical Engineer (Battery and Docking Station) (Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical design and integration of battery packs, enclosures, mounting systems, structural components, and service interfaces.
• Design autonomous docking stations, charging interfaces, alignment mechanisms, and structural assemblies for repeated robot charging and battery engagement.
• Define mechanical architectures for battery retention, thermal interfaces, sealing, connector protection, and structural load paths.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, systems, firmware, software, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and supplier teams.
• Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses; support prototyping, testing, root-cause investigations, and design iterations.
• Drive design-for-manufacturing, production support, reliability, safety, serviceability, and technical mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Strong experience designing precision mechanical assemblies using NX or similar CAD tools, including sheet metal, machined parts, castings, plastics, and structural assemblies.
• Experience taking products from concept through prototype, validation, and production with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
• Proficiency in tolerance analysis and mechanical validation, with understanding of thermal and structural considerations for battery systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, cross-functional collaboration, and technical communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with battery enclosures, structural battery components, charging interfaces, connector systems, or power electronics packaging.
• Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or other complex electromechanical products.
