Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Location: Remote from the United States or from a hirify.global office; preference for candidates based in or near Houston, Texas. U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required.

What you will do

• Administer, install, configure, patch, upgrade, and optimize enterprise Oracle Server environments across on-premises and cloud infrastructure.
• Implement and manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery, clustering, replication, and high-availability solutions.
• Monitor database performance, capacity, reliability, and system health, resolving operational issues proactively.
• Manage database security, access controls, encryption, auditing, governance, change management, and compliance.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, storage, network, and security teams on troubleshooting and system integration.
• Maintain operational documentation and contribute to automation, monitoring, and performance-tuning initiatives.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent residency is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 15 years of hands-on database administration experience with enterprise-scale Oracle Server environments.
• In-depth experience with Oracle RAC/ASM, RDBMS 12c/18c/19c, Data Guard, and RMAN on Linux and Windows.
• Experience with Oracle WebLogic, APEX, Forms/Reports, Enterprise Manager, Linux shell scripting, Perl, Python, and PowerShell.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work independently.

Nice to have

• Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL expertise.
