Senior Database Administrator (Oracle & AWS Cloud): Oversee end-to-end administration of complex Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server environments across on-premises and AWS cloud infrastructures with an accent on high availability, security, and performance optimization. Focus on architecting HA/DR solutions, cloud migrations, automation scripting, and production support for mission-critical systems.

Location: Must be able to work on-site in the East Bay (Oakland, 94612) 2-3 days per week, starting with on-site presence on Day 1

Salary: $174,700–$187,200

What you will do

• Lead installation, configuration, patching, and migration of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server systems.
• Manage AWS RDS, Aurora instances; implement automation with CloudWatch, Lambda, IAM, Terraform/CloudFormation.
• Diagnose performance issues with SQL tuning, indexing, AWR, OEM, cloud monitoring.
• Architect HA/DR solutions including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, multi-AZ replication; test failover procedures.
• Enforce security standards: encryption, auditing, compliance.
• Automate tasks with Python, Shell, PL/SQL; provide 24x7 on-call support and mentorship to junior DBAs.

Requirements

• 8+ years Senior DBA experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL
• Expertise in RMAN, pgBackRest, AWS Backup; deep AWS knowledge (RDS, Aurora, Systems Manager, KMS)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong communication for technical documentation
• Ability to work hybrid on-site in East Bay 2-3 days/week from Day 1
