Shift Supervisor (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: On-site at hirify.global’s Lancaster, Texas terminal; listed location: Dallas, TX. Base shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM CT, with flexible start and end times, extended shifts of up to approximately 14 hours, weekends, holidays, and travel to remote sites and roadside locations as needed.

What you will do

• Manage end-to-end night-shift operations for Vehicle Operators and Fleet Specialists across testing missions and commercial freight runs.
• Lead, coach, schedule, and develop Vehicle Operators, including performance management and corrective action.
• Enforce safety, compliance, pre-trip and post-trip inspection, ELD, and terminal-check requirements.
• Manage crew fatigue, personnel-to-vehicle assignments, qualifications, certifications, and Hours of Service in partnership with Dispatch.
• Handle terminal and roadside escalations, initiate incident response, and coordinate mechanical and technical issue triage.
• Document and own the night-to-day shift handoff, ensuring truck status, open issues, and unfinished work are carried forward.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in fleet operations, logistics, or transportation management.
• Leadership experience managing CDL operators or shift-based teams; an active Class A CDL is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, especially Hours of Service and commercial-operator compliance.
• Experience with fleet management software, scheduling tools, and telematics platforms.
• Strong written communication, sound judgment under ambiguity, and the ability to make defensible overnight decisions with limited on-site support.
• Ability and willingness to work the overnight schedule on-site, including flexible hours, extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and travel to remote locations.

Nice to have

• Experience in a technical or testing environment, especially autonomous vehicles.
• Experience supervising an overnight or 24/7 shift or establishing a new shift, site, or team.
• Enhanced Inspection Protocol certification, CVSA inspection training, and experience with safety observations, audits, or incident investigations.
