Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; hybrid with at least 2 days per week in the office

Base salary: $240,000+ annually, plus benefits and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the Nova Product engineering team responsible for subscriptions, data rooms, distributions, capital calls, the LP wallet, and the investor portal.
• Grow the team from approximately 4 engineers to 5–7 engineers and help shape the broader Product group.
• Drive the roadmap with Product, Design, stakeholders, and Foundations engineering teams.
• Set technical direction with senior and staff engineers across the TypeScript codebase.
• Maintain high quality and reliability across regulated workflows involving real money and investor identity.
• Stay close to the codebase to unblock engineers, ask informed questions, and make sound technical trade-offs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of engineering management experience, including hiring and developing engineers.
• Experience shipping and scaling customer-facing products in complex, quality-critical domains.
• Experience working in high-stakes environments with strict compliance requirements.
• Experience with a modern TypeScript stack or the ability to learn it quickly.
• Startup judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to introduce effective processes without over-engineering.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, identity, or KYC.
