Fleet Specialist (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: On-site at hirify.global’s Lancaster, Texas terminal; base shift is 11:00 PM–7:30 AM CT. Overnight, weekend, holiday, extended shifts, and overnight travel may be required.

hirify.global is developing generative AI for the physical world, starting with autonomous trucks, and operates road testing and revenue freight missions in Texas.

What you will do

• Prepare vehicle systems for manual and autonomous missions, including software releases, maps, firmware, mission containers, trailer weight, and load IDs.
• Launch, monitor, hold, and close missions using the hirify.global App, Jira, Linux terminal, and mission data tooling.
• Monitor autonomy behavior and vehicle intent from the front right seat, communicate system state to the Vehicle Operator, and call for disengagement when required for safety.
• Annotate road events, categorize disengagements, and track mission performance including takeovers, dropouts, troubleshooting, and delays.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip documentation, manage data drives and log offloads, and perform calibration and static validation procedures.
• Support vehicle movements and inspections as a spotter, coordinate with Dispatch and Vehicle Operators, maintain bay organization, and post accurate shift updates in Slack.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical aptitude and comfort working with command-line tools, container logs, device resets, and fault handling.
• Strong written communication, documentation, attention to detail, and ability to follow procedures under time pressure.
• Ability to work in a fast-changing operational environment with shifting priorities and schedules.
• Willingness and ability to work overnight, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts, including extended shifts of up to approximately 14 hours and overnight travel.
• Ability to travel for out-of-area missions, scouting, and testing, and ability to learn mission, fleet, and inspection tools quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience in operations, logistics, technical support, vehicle testing, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or 24/7 operations.
• Experience troubleshooting computer, network, or embedded systems.
• Enhanced Pre-trip Inspector certification or interest in becoming certified.
