Sr. Corporate Counsel - Contracts (Medtech)

Location: Remote and/or hybrid within the United States

Salary: $225,000–$250,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Provide legal and business advice for a broad range of commercial and operational agreements.
• Draft, negotiate, interpret, and manage contracts covering software, SaaS, services, supply, manufacturing, distribution, collaboration, partnerships, development, and clinical trials.
• Advise decision-makers on contractual risks, business issues, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support international operations and collaborate with regulatory, purchasing, R&D, finance, quality, IT, and business development functions.
• Improve contract administration processes, systems, training, communications, and internal approval controls.
• Monitor contract covenants, expirations, and renewals; manage outside counsel as needed.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent law degree with excellent academic credentials.
• California license to practice law, or another state license with registration as In-House Counsel in California.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience in complex commercial transactions, including preferably 2+ years in-house at a medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech company.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, privacy law, the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
• Working knowledge of international, federal, and state regulations applicable to medical device companies, including EU/UK MDR and FDA requirements.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
