Sr. Corporate Counsel - Contracts (Medical Devices)

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States; training is conducted virtually and equipment is provided.

Base pay: $225,000–$250,000 annually, plus bonus and benefits.

Medical device company developing and manufacturing insulin pump systems and diabetes technology products.

What you will do

• Draft, negotiate, interpret, and advise on a broad range of commercial and operational agreements.
• Support global commercial affairs and international operations by identifying legal and business risks and developing mitigation strategies.
• Advise decision-makers on contract negotiations, risk allocation, approvals, and business arrangements.
• Improve contract administration procedures, systems, training, communications, and the overall contract lifecycle.
• Monitor contract covenants, expirations, and renewals with contract administrators.
• Collaborate with regulatory, purchasing, R&D, finance, quality, IT, corporate, and business development teams while managing outside counsel as needed.

Requirements

• JD or equivalent law degree with excellent academic credentials.
• California bar license, or another state license with registration as In-House Counsel in California.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience involving complex commercial transactions, including preferably 2+ years in-house at a medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech company.
• Strong contract law knowledge and familiarity with the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and privacy law.
• Understanding of international, federal, and state regulations applicable to medical device companies.
• Authorization to work for any employer in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
