Finance Manager, R&D (AI Healthtech)

What you will do

• Partner with R&D and technical leaders on budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance reporting.
• Build and maintain financial models covering AI/API usage, infrastructure, vendors, headcount, lab operations, and other R&D investments.
• Own detailed R&D forecasts and budgets, investigate variances, update assumptions, and improve forecast accuracy.
• Lead headcount planning with the People team and R&D leadership, tracking hiring and personnel spend against plan.
• Prepare executive financial reporting and support Board and investor presentation materials.
• Improve planning workflows and support the rollout and optimization of budgeting and planning systems.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in FP&A, financial operations, business finance, or a related finance role.
• Experience partnering with R&D, Engineering, Product, Data, AI/ML, or other technology-focused teams.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, including Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience owning budgets and forecasts, analyzing actuals against plan, investigating variances, and maintaining forecast accuracy.
• Strong execution, organization, communication, detail orientation, and ability to work with ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI to improve finance processes, automate workflows, and generate financial insights.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Pigment for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Experience with Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, or similar planning platforms.
• Background in consumer health, diagnostics, digital health, laboratory, or healthcare technology.
• Experience building finance models, forecasting processes, reporting structures, or workflows from scratch.
