Director, FP&A (Biotech)

Salary: $170,000–$260,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the integrated company-wide P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow model across pipeline programs, milestones, and capital deployment scenarios.
• Partner with R&D and clinical operations on study budgets, enrollment-driven forecasts, CRO contracts, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Build CMC and manufacturing forecasts covering campaign timing, validation batches, tech transfer, analytical programs, inventory, and cost of goods.
• Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, department target-setting, headcount planning, and monthly forecast-versus-actuals reporting.
• Select and implement hirify.global’s FP&A platform and establish the planning calendar, forecast cadence, and reporting standards.
• Prepare board and investor financial materials while supporting accounting through close, audits, and system transitions.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of progressive finance and FP&A experience in animal health, biotech, pharma, or another R&D-heavy, milestone-based organization.
• Hands-on ownership of clinical study financial planning, including enrollment assumptions, site activation, CRO structures, spend curves, and accruals.
• Experience with CMC or manufacturing financial planning and understanding of inventoriable costs ahead of commercial launch.
• Expertise building and auditing integrated three-statement, headcount, and scenario models; advanced Excel is required.
• Hands-on FP&A platform experience and experience building or scaling an FP&A function are required.
• Strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to present clear financial analysis to executive and board audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting a first commercial launch or a revenue-generating operation.
• Experience implementing Datarails, migrating from spreadsheet-based planning, or supporting ERP and FP&A system implementations.
• Experience managing or mentoring FP&A analysts.
• Veterinary or animal health regulatory and commercial experience.
• CPA, CFA, or FPAC certification.
