Test & Validation Engineer (Space Defense)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; work-from-home flexibility with on-site support as required

Salary: $95,000–$147,000 per year in El Segundo, California

What you will do

• Execute functional, integration, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance tests across mission applications and software systems.
• Develop, maintain, and document test cases, procedures, reports, validation artifacts, and test results.
• Document, reproduce, track, and verify software defects through resolution.
• Support release readiness, operational deployments, test environment preparation, configuration, and test data maintenance.
• Assist with automated testing and continuous testing practices as the program adopts CI/CD-oriented delivery.
• Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, DevSecOps personnel, operational users, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related technical field.
• At least two years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, system validation, or related technical activities.
• Experience executing software test cases, documenting results, and working with testing methodologies and software development lifecycles.
• Ability to work effectively in Agile environments, manage multiple priorities, and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, or similar collaboration and issue-tracking tools.

Nice to have

• Active Secret or higher clearance and a master’s degree in a related technical field.
• Experience with DoD, Space Force, mission-critical software, SATCOM, mission systems, or operational C2 environments.
• Exposure to API, integration, system-level, performance, resiliency, or operational validation testing.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevSecOps, cloud-native or Kubernetes environments, REST APIs, microservices, and distributed architectures.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman, Robot Framework, or Karate.
