QA Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the USA, with occasional travel of up to 25% to headquarters, customer sites, and vendor facilities. US citizenship, active US Secret clearance, favorable investigation, and CAC eligibility are required from the start.

Salary: $135,000–$170,000 per year, plus bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Own the system test plan covering functional, integration, performance, load, regression, and user acceptance testing.
• Translate product acceptance criteria into executable tests and identify requirements that are ambiguous or not verifiable.
• Build automated test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines as release gates.
• Develop evaluation sets, sampled audits, and measurements for incorrect decisions, system misses, and user overrides.
• Maintain release inventories, test reports, evaluation records, rollback criteria, and audit-ready evidence.
• Work independently with product, engineering, platform, customers, and partner teams to enforce release quality standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering, test automation, or software engineering with substantial test ownership.
• Strong coding ability for test automation, preferably Python with pytest; JavaScript or TypeScript with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium is also applicable.
• Experience building automated test suites, integrating them into CI/CD release gates, and owning test plans through review and acceptance.
• Experience with performance and load testing, statistical sampling, measurement confidence, and evaluating what systems miss.
• Ability to test against requirements rather than implementation, work with product owners or end users, and independently report results.
• Active US Secret clearance and US citizenship are required; willingness to travel up to 25% is also required.

Nice to have

• Active Top Secret clearance and experience in government DevSecOps, RMF, or ATO environments.
• Contract and API testing, test data management, and extensible test infrastructure.
• AI-assisted testing, model-output validation, groundedness and citation checking, or responsible AI practices.
• JMeter, k6, Locust, Section 508, or WCAG verification experience.
