Spanish Bilingual Health Care Outreach Specialist (Medicaid)

Location: Permanent work from home; Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm EST (New York)

What you will do

• Make daily outbound calls to Medicaid members across New York City and Long Island.
• Introduce free social care programs through empathetic, conversational outreach.
• Complete 12–15 SCN 1115 waiver screening questions with interested participants.
• Explain complex social benefit programs in clear, accessible language.
• Check eligibility for enhanced needs and services and maintain detailed call records.
• Build rapport, maximize engagement, and reduce hang-up rates through a consultative approach.

Requirements

• Professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
• At least one year of cold calling or sales experience.
• Strong empathy, persistence, resilience, and communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex information simply and work with diverse, underserved populations.
• Ability to work independently while following structured processes.

Nice to have

• Experience or familiarity with the nonprofit sector and social benefit systems.
• Cultural sensitivity when working with Medicaid recipients and diverse communities.
