Systems Engineer III / Test and Integration Lab Support (Defense)

Location: On-site in Beavercreek, Ohio, with a minimum of 3 days in the office. Travel is minimal at 0–20% with standard working hours.

What you will do

• Prototype and assess the feasibility of horizontal integration across USAF open reference architectures and multiple programs.
• Support the development, simulation, maturation, and coordination of open architecture and autonomy capabilities.
• Coordinate experiments, align complementary lines of effort, and prepare leadership-level briefings on results.
• Break broad cross-cutting activities into prototype-based work to reduce risk and identify opportunities across architectures and standards.
• Engage Government clients to understand integration requirements and needs.
• Analyze hardware, software, man-machine interfaces, and system-level requirements to optimize designs and deliver integrated IT solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 3–5 years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience with software architecture and development, data modeling, test-driven development, and mission planning.
• Experience with collaborative software development in open-source or professional team environments.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• On-site availability in Beavercreek, Ohio, with at least 3 office days per week required.

Nice to have

• Top Secret clearance.
• Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and methodologies.
• Knowledge of DoD open architectures, including Open Mission Systems.
• Hands-on experience building, running, and troubleshooting containerized applications with Docker and Podman.
