Software Deployment & Integration Engineer (Defense)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; work 4–5 days per week from the Los Angeles (Hawthorne) office

Salary: $145,000–$220,000 base compensation per year, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Lead software and platform bring-up for radar systems, support equipment, test racks, and STE environments.
• Validate end-to-end configurations across BIOS, storage and RAID, Linux services, networking, time synchronization, containers, and deployment tooling.
• Troubleshoot system configuration, operating system, service, permissions, routing, switch, and software deployment failures using logs, command-line tools, packet captures, and telemetry.
• Configure Layer 2/Layer 3 networks, VLANs, routing, firewalls, managed switches, timing hardware, and test infrastructure.
• Develop scripts, checklists, documentation, and automated validation workflows using Python, Bash, and configuration-as-code tools such as Jsonnet.
• Build automated hardware/software validation and browser-based end-to-end tests for the radar’s on-device web interfaces using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 3+ years of experience in systems integration, software integration, test engineering, site reliability, DevOps, lab infrastructure, or a similar technical role involving complex hardware/software systems.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting experience with Ubuntu or similar environments.
• Experience with Python, Bash, or similar scripting; Linux services, permissions, package dependencies, logs, networking, BIOS, storage/RAID, and operating system configuration.
• Experience with IP addressing, routing, subnetting, VLANs, DNS, firewalls, managed switches, and systematic technical debugging.
• Ability to create clear technical documentation, test procedures, and debug workflows while collaborating across hardware and software boundaries.

Nice to have

• Experience with radar, RF, aerospace, defense, electromechanical, STE, HIL/SIL, or production test systems.
• Experience with Docker, Azure CLI, Jsonnet, Ansible, PTP, NTP, GNSS-referenced timing, or timemaster.
• Experience with test automation, regression testing, browser-based UI testing, and Python-based data collection or analysis.
