Lead Engine Performance Engineer (Gas Engines)

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, United States; onsite 5 days per week. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

What you will do

• Develop and improve gas engines for power generation and gas compression, focusing on power, efficiency, emissions, cost, transient behavior, and operating strategies.
• Define and execute engine tests covering mixture preparation, gas exchange, combustion, and turbocharging; interpret and document results.
• Define and execute 1D simulations and improve development, validation, calibration, and product-release processes.
• Lead technical activities and provide direction during projects and technical reviews.
• Analyze, prepare, and present technical data and recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and training to engineers and technicians while collaborating with controls, design, mechanical engineering, sales, marketing, service, suppliers, and manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional experience with engines and the ability to manage multiple projects and technical personnel.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead effectively in a global matrix organization.
• Onsite availability in Waukesha, Wisconsin, five days per week.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the foreseeable future.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of experience in engine testing and/or 1D simulation.
• 5+ years of experience in new product development involving complex engine control systems.
• Experience with engine system calibration, hardware development, engine control strategies, automated testing, and calibration.
• Experience with GT-Power, Simulink, AVL PUMA, IndiCom, Concerto, MATLAB, Design-Expert, ETAS INCA, DAQ systems, and related engineering software.
• Experience creating and analyzing Design of Experiments with regression analysis.
