What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop buyers while actively supporting purchasing, supplier escalations, shortage recovery, and expedited material requirements.
• Develop procurement strategies, standardize purchasing processes, negotiate supplier agreements, and manage strategic supplier relationships.
• Ensure timely availability of externally sourced materials and components by identifying long-lead items, monitoring supplier commitments, and resolving supply disruptions.
• Own inventory health metrics and planning parameters, including inventory turns, days of supply, safety stock, lead times, excess inventory, and obsolescence exposure.
• Lead supplier scorecards, corrective actions, visual management, Pareto analysis, root-cause problem solving, A3 methodologies, and Lean initiatives.
• Partner with engineering, operations, planning, stores, finance, sourcing, and business leaders on supply-chain resilience, cost reduction, engineering changes, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, purchasing, materials management, or supply chain roles in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing procurement, purchasing, or supply-chain teams.
• Experience in discrete manufacturing is required; engineered-to-order manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading purchasing or procurement teams in a hands-on player/coach capacity.
• Strong supplier negotiation, relationship management, and commercial business experience.
• Experience with Lean, visual management, root-cause analysis, continuous improvement, and cross-functional influence.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience managing buyout, custom-fabricated, and strategic supplier deliverables.
