Purchasing Manager (Supply Chain)

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States — onsite at PacStar HQ

Salary: $108,900–$145,000 per year plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead the PacStar Purchasing team and provide strategic supply chain support for the business plan.
• Participate in demand forecasting and determine material requirements for production and customer commitments.
• Monitor industry trends, supplier performance, supply risks, and production or delivery issues.
• Develop supplier relationships, contracts, supply-base redundancy, and long-term procurement strategies.
• Develop the Buyer team, manage procurement objectives and metrics, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with operations, engineering, and business departments to support new product introduction and product launches.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in purchasing and scheduling commercial and custom-fabricated parts, including sheet metal, plastics, cables, and machined parts.
• 4+ years of team leadership experience.
• Experience with Sage software and ERP or MRP systems; SAP experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of supply chain activities, procurement rules and regulations, inventory processes, and accounting procedures related to procurement and planning.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, analyze supply problems, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• APICS or CPM certification.
• Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles.
• SAP experience.
