Patient Access Specialist - Stamford (Healthcare)

Salary: $17.00–$18.65 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform admitting and pre-registration duties for hospital patients.
• Assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Complete medical necessity, eligibility, compliance, and insurance verification checks.
• Collect point-of-service payments, past-due balances, and document payment plan options.
• Explain consent, Medicare, Tricare, observation, and other patient education forms; obtain required signatures.
• Operate the telephone switchboard, conduct account audits, and provide reporting data to Patient Access leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Ability to work onsite in Stamford, CT.
• Openness to innovation, including using AI to improve processes and patient and client experiences.
• CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire; certification is company paid.
