What you will do

• Manage all branch activities, including customer and employee experience, digital engagement, transactions, operations, servicing, sales, and personal production.
• Direct sales and business development activities to achieve branch profitability, annual sales, and operational goals.
• Lead, coach, develop, and performance-manage branch staff; conduct interviews and make staffing recommendations.
• Identify Retail and Business Banking customer needs, grow Business Banking relationships through proactive outreach, and build the bank’s community presence.
• Maintain operational, security, compliance, risk-management, audit, and fraud-prevention standards while protecting customer assets.
• Own complex account-servicing and error-resolution issues and independently process Business Banking loan requests up to $250,000.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least three years of sales experience and at least two years of managerial experience or proven leadership ability.
• Experience as a Branch Manager in a retail banking environment.
• Strong knowledge of Business Banking products, services, and client relationship management.
• M&T Way Certification and Precision Leadership Certification.
• Ability to use common PC software, including Microsoft Office for word processing and spreadsheets.
• Life/Accident and Health Insurance licensing may be required within 18 months of entry, with branch training provided within six months.
• M&T Business Banking Specialist qualification is required within 18 months of hire.
• Maintain federal registration requirements under the SAFE Act, stay current on operational, product, and system changes, and demonstrate sound risk-management decisions.
