Engineer, Asset Management

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States; hybrid schedule

Salary: $100,490–$111,660 annually, commensurate with experience; eligible for a potential incentive.

What you will do

• Develop coordinated transmission programs and contribute to the one-year and five-year capital budget plans.
• Define project scope, costs, schedules, alternatives, and approval justifications with Engineering, Project Management, and Cost Estimating.
• Develop asset utilization strategies using life-cycle planning, risk analysis, reliability goals, and replacement programs.
• Analyze transmission and substation performance, establish performance measures, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate transmission and substation asset database maintenance, data collection processes, benchmarking, and best-practice development.
• Communicate asset management strategies across the organization and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• At least three years of related experience.
• Strong process improvement, financial analysis, strategic planning, and business analysis skills.
• Ability to manage Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables; Visual Basic, SQL, or similar programming experience is desirable.
• Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of substation power system planning, engineering, maintenance, and operations.
• Experience in the electric utility industry, especially transmission.
• Advanced degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
