Controls Technician (Industrial Automation)

What you will do

• Provide electrical and controls support for refinery operations and execute scheduled maintenance work safely.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and upgrade electrical and controls systems in production equipment.
• Maintain MCCs, switchgear, transformers, generators, industrial robots, electronic controllers, PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
• Perform preventive maintenance, recommend equipment for maintenance programs, and improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and corrective processes.
• Update CMMS records, maintain technical files and control reports, and preserve accurate plant asset history.
• Collaborate with managers, engineers, mechanics, supervisors, and operators to identify hazards and support plant processes and packaging systems.

Requirements

• Preferred 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience focused on controls and electronics.
• Required proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and industrial networks, including SLC 500, ControlLogix, PanelView Plus, and Allen Bradley VFDs.
• Basic PLC knowledge and the ability to use computers and PLC software programs.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, technical data, and electrical codes.
• Ability to troubleshoot, test, calibrate, overhaul, repair, and install complete electrical systems, including systems up to 480V AC.
• Maintenance experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, machine tools, controls, and electrical systems.
